This document provides a general specification for an HP BladeSystem c-Class infrastructure sufficient to build out a small to medium sized cluster for running Microsoft Windows Compute Cluster Server 2003 (CCS). CCS is Microsoft’s entry into the fast-growing High Performance Computing (HPC) market. HPC solutions are often deployed as clusters of relatively small servers, which work in parallel to solve intensive compute and mathematical problems. These clusters are often put to use in the development and application of complex data models used in computer-aided engineering, finance, life and materials science, scientific research, and additional areas.
