This white paper details the performance characterization of the HP ProLiant DL580 G5 and the BL680c G5 with 130W and 80W processors respectively.  The surprise finding is that the 80W processor is able to achieve very good results relative to its 130W counterpart.  This paper shows details of the overall system power consumption relative to the number of users supported.  The end result is that many data centers could benefit by deploying lower wattage processor versions while achieving very good performance.
