| The HP Planning Tool for Microsoft Office Communications Server 2007 R2 is designed to provide a quick and easy way to generate the HP server and storage hardware recommendations based on the features and functionality required for a specific OCS 2007 R2 topology. The tool takes very basic input from the user such as the number of users per site, the functionality required from the OCS Stand fronts, the core and optional features required by the user, any specific HP hardware choice of the user (for OCS server role and storage servers) and the business criticality of the solution. Then it generates a solution topology and associated bill of materials (BOM). This can be used to form the framework for a discussion around the cost and server/storage infrastructure requirements needed to deploy Microsoft OCS 2007 R2 on HP technology. |
NOTE:
Any combination of the Central and Branch site(s) supports a maximum of 300,000 OCS users in the current version of the
planning tool. A single Central site can support 100 - 100,000 users.
A Branch site can support 10 - 5000 users.
Multiple Central and Branch sites can be configured based on organizations communication need
.
